For the first time in Iran, in an important national environmental and conservation competition, the Midaf Association succeeded in winning financial support for marine mammal conservation, with over 56 proposals submitted from across the country. The project was designed with a special focus on local ecological knowledge and aims to conduct detailed studies and ensure effective protection of valuable marine mammal species in the marine ecosystems of Hormozgan Province.
Homa Group – as the sponsor of Divar for nature conservation – announced its financial support for the Midaf project after carefully reviewing the proposals, becoming one of the project's backers. This support highlights the importance of local approaches and traditional knowledge in developing solutions to protect marine biodiversity, and aims to strengthen the role of these innovative methods in safeguarding these species more effectively.
