Haleh Abedi
Managing Director

Her love and commitment to marine conservation, especially marine mammals, has made her endure all the hardships that being a marine biologist has for a woman. With a bachelor's degree in fisheries, her profound love for marine biology and dolphins motivated her to switch her field of study. She pursued a degree in marine biology to gain a deeper understanding of this fascinating area. Her master's thesis focused on the dolphins of Qeshm, Hengam, and Larak Islands, showcasing her enthusiasm for these incredible marine creatures.
After graduating, Haleh secured a position at the Qeshm Environmental Protection Institute, where she spent two valuable 2 years dedicated to the conservation of marine resources. She has always dreamed of establishing a non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on marine mammals, aiming to make a more positive impact on marine ecosystems.
Now, as the founder of the Midaf Society, Haleh has realized her dream. With all her energy and commitment, she is actively involved in projects and activities aimed at protecting marine mammals. However, she understands well that marine biodiversity extends beyond just mammals. With Midaf's goals encompassing other groups like Elasmobranches, Marine turtles, and Seabirds, Haleh continues to put forth her utmost efforts to protect these species and their habitats.
She believes that through collaboration, teamwork, and education, we can create a more sustainable future for our oceans and the endangered species that inhabit them.
